Summary of Daily Weather
Date Being Summarized: 07 April 1995

A good day for just about all outdoor activities except storm chasing.
Upper flow mostly zonal, with shortwaves triggering rounds of isolated
severe reports in NE/IA, IL, and even a few hail reports in eastern WA/OR
and parts of ID. A quasistationary surface boundary from NE across northern
MO and into IL assisted in focusing convection in the NE-IA-IL areas. This
boundary sagged south into KS overnight. To its south, southerly flow
brought Gulf moisture back but at only a snail's pace, with surface dewpoints
rising only into the 50s and lower 60s from KS south into OK and most of TX.
This moisture was enough, however, to set up a dry line across western TX
which nudged eastward into extreme western OK by early morning on the 8th.
Isolated light showers were picked up on radar late in the day near the dry line
in western OK, but no lightning was observed from the VORTEX area.
