Summary of Daily Weather
Date Being Summarized: 12 April 1995

The cyclone in the central U.S. continued its lifting-out process, with some
continued deepening. Deep moisture was confined to the eastern U.S., with
northwesterly flow over most of the plains, as the cyclone moved over the Great
Lakes. Embedded within that norhtwesterly flow was a relatively weak short wave
trough that was especially clear at H500 over NE and KS. This was reinforcing
the tendency to develop the anticyclone in the wake of the cold front associ-
ated with the major cyclone. High lapse rates in mid-troposphere were re-dev-
eloping in the southern Rockies as the ridge aloft was building in the west.

There was only one severe weather report ... a possible tornado in NC.
