LOW LEVEL DRY AIR MOVED INTO THE OPERATIONS AREA AROUND THE SOUTHEAST SIDE
OF THE SURFACE AND UPPER LEVEL LOW OVER WESTERN KANSAS. RESULTANT LACK OF
INSTABILITY PRECLUDED ANY VORTEX OPERATIONS. AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPED OVER THE NORTHWEST PART OF THE AREA NEAR THE COLDEST AIR ALOFT.
SOME OF THIS CONVECTION REACHED 40 TO 50 DBZ ON THE 0.5 DEG ELEVATION
ANGLE OFF THE VANCE AFB 88D...BUT NO SEVERE WEATHER WAS REPORTED.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WHICH AFFECTED OKLAHOMA AND TEXAS SUNDAY NIGHT
MOVED SOUTHEAST TO THE GULF COAST REGION BY MONDAY. A FEW TORNADOES WERE
REPORTED IN LOUISIANA AND MISSISSIPPI AS WELL AS NUMEROUS OCCURRENCES OF 
LARGE HAIL AND WIND DAMAGE. ALSO...VERY HEAVY RAINS AFFECTED THE NEW
ORLEANS AREA. FURTHER NORTHWEST A FEW TORNADOES WERE REPORTED IN THE OMAHA
AREA...AND ONE BRIEF TORNADO OCCURRED IN NORTHEAST COLORADO.
