DRY WESTERLY FLOW ACROSS THE OPS AREA SUPRESSED DEVELOPMENT OF DEEP
CONVECTION AS THE UPPER/SFC LOW PRESSURE AREA MOVED TO THE NORTHEAST.
VORTEX OPERATIONS WERE NOT CONDUCTED.

INTERESTING WEATHER OCCURRED NEAR THE SURFACE LOW AS SEVERAL TORNADOES
WERE SPAWNED BY THUNDERSTORMS WHICH FIRED ALONG THE WARM FRONT. SURFACE
ANALYSES TUESDAY AFTERNOON SHOWED A NARROW BUT PRONOUNCED AXIS OF
LOW LVL MOISTURE ADVECTION IN THE WARM AIR MASS SOUTH OF THE SURFACE
LOW. INSTABILITY WAS VERY HIGH AS SURFACE TEMPS/DEW POINTS IN THE MID 70S/
AROUND 60 FOCUSED NEAR THE SURFACE BOUNDARY BENEATH 500 MB TEMPS OF -18.
OVER 50 TORNADO REPORTS WERE IN THE THE SELS ROUGH LOG...MOST OF WHICH 
WERE IN IOWA AND ILLINOIS.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT CONVECTION WAS NOTED ALONG THE GULF COAST AS PERSISTENT
LOW LEVEL INFLOW INTERACTED WITH CONVECTIVE OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES TO MAINTAIN
A HEAVY RAIN EVENT OVER SOUTHEAST LOUSIANA AND FAR SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI/
ALABAMA. SOME SEVERE WEATHER ALSO OCCURRED...GENERALLY IN THE FORM OF
THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE.
